Leadership:

Jeff Edmondson - STRIVE
Adrienne James - Sycamore Schools
Beth Smith - Cincinnati Works

Overview:

The Cincinnati USA Region must bridge the gap between the current educational environment and its relevance to the global economy. Because diverse education systems compete for resources to serve individuals of all ages, it is key that we align and focus on priority actions that will result in a flexible, agile, and responsive workforce. Our focus is to create an educational environment where every individual succeeds from birth and where all people attain the education they need to enter careers in the global economy.

Focus Areas/Projects:
  • Quality Early Childhood Education - To ensure quality early childhood education, we must utilize the developing Success By 6 structure to establish local and regional priority action strategies.

  • Community Engagement In Learning - Our goal is to build upon the Student Success Network emerging through Strive. This will allow us to develop local and regional strategies in order to increase family engagement in student learning.

  • Teacher Recruitment, Development, and Retention - Attracting, developing, and retaining good teachers are vital qualities in education. The objective is to develop a network of critical stakeholders to make the region the single most attractive place for teachers to live and work.

  • Career Pathways and Responsive Postsecondary Systems - We plan to build upon successful local models to educate students on the connections between coursework and careers. We also want to ensure that postsecondary institutions offer learning opportunities that are consistent with high demand jobs.
